This beautiful beach resort city is an excellent place to go for a romantic getaway, but also wonderful for families too. A few miles to the north of the city is the area of Jalisco, which has many of the newer hotels, with many all-inclusive hotels that are fabulous. I recommend two hotels at the bottom of the page.
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico is a great place to get away and relax at a warm beach and a wonderful hotel . . . but there are other many things to do.
You may want to go into town and and buy some soveneirs from the street venders.
Or, for about $12.50 per person you could go to the water park, which is north of the city in Nuevo Vallarta. I will put some photos below. The link below is clickable. The water park is called, Parque acuático Splash Nuevo Vallarta.
More Things To Do In Puerto Vallarta
Among many other things to do in Puerto Vallarta, you can go out for a very special trip on a pirate ship. They provide an amazing pirate show for entertainment. There is a day trip for six hours that leaves at 10 am and includes breakfast and lunch and looks like a lot of fun. They also have an evening trip that is four hours and leaves and 7 pm. You can get more information, including some videos by going to their website, just click here for the Marigalante Pirate Ship website.
There is also a website for tourists to Puerto Vallarta that offers a discount for this pirate ship trip and they also offer many other activities for Puerto Vallarta. Besides the pirate ship discount, thisPuerto Vallarta tourist website offers many very interesting activities, including two of my favorites, ATV tours . . .
Another activity that looks really fun is a speedboat and zipline day trip. The reviews are very high with a 4.9 on Expedia. Here is an example of one of the reviews:
Excellent tour and experience, all the guides (including Jorge, the boat guide and Magic Mike, the zip line guide, and others) were nice and made the tour fun and exciting. It was our first time in Puerto-Vallarta and were little skeptical booking the tour, but all four of us, me, my wife and two teenager kids enjoyed it. Started with the exciting speed boat ride of about 25-30 min, got dropped off in small beach town Boca de Tomatlan, walked 5 min to to board a jeep/shuttle that brought us to the zip line place (about 10 min drive). They have lockers to keep you bags in (no charge). All the 15 zip lines were great, started with low and short and then some long, fast and high ones. Coming back to the base we had about 1-1/2 hr before shuttle would leave, giving us enough time to checkout their tiny (but nice) bird/animal century , dip toes in creek, try out kayak, buy and eat food and toquilla tasting. On the way back, speed boat slowed down at around the islands/caves.
Here is a suggestion for a great hotel stay in the Puerto Vallarta area. My dad stayed here and absolutely loved it. He says that the food is amazing, with plates and plates of fresh pineapple and papaya and the round pools and grounds are just perfect. The beach area is wonderful too. It is an all-inclusive hotel.
Another hotel suggestion for you. This hotel is very similar to the previous hotel, just a little newer, which is probably why it has a 4.4 rating, a little higher rating than the first hotel. Both are all-inclusives and less than a mile apart.
